Before and After - Three

This photo today isn't one that I took, however it is a great photo that caught my eye on an evening when I was filled with the urge to play with various textures and photoshop settings.  MarieElizabeth of the blog "The Places I Go." took this photo

When I saw it, a straight out of the camera image, I knew that I wanted tweak it in photoshop.  So I contacted MarieElizabeth and she graciously gave me permission to do so!  First I just tweaked things here and there in photoshop, mostly lightening the image as a whole, and ended up with this...

Then the fun part came where I played with textures, actions, and gradients coming up with three different variations of this photo.  You can click on each image to view it larger

The differences with the first and the third are subtle, but the actions/textures are completely different.  In all its forms I still really like this photo and think that it would make a great water color painting or Victorian era post-card.  What do you think?

And if you have a photo that you think could use some tweaking or would like to see it edited let me know!  I love playing around with photos and will gladly do it just for fun.

  1. They would make great postcards! Great edits Jen. I wonder if the Black and White could have a little more contrast? What do you think?

  2. Thanks Rachel! You know... I was thinking the same thing about the B&W one. When editing it I tried to up the contrast, but lost a lot of the fogginess. It was quite a bother to me and you picked up on it too... haha.

  4. I like them all! I think the first one is my favorite, but the black and white reminds me of an older story book or something. Thanks for showing me what it can be!
