Photo of the Day - Fifty Five

I adore this photo.  It is pretty much straight out of the camera, that's how perfect it was just by the right light, condition, and composition.  Sometimes you get lucky like that, not often, but when you do its awesome and boosts your confidence as a photographer.

This photo is of a firefighter on my department.  I was busy fighting fire along side him and my other department members most of the time, but paused a moment, grabbed my camera, and caught this moment.  He was retreating from the edge of a completely burned and smoldering house with the hose line.  The sun was getting low in the sky, illuminating the smoke perfectly through the scraggly, leafless trees.  If there was ever a photo that captures the feel of the hard work that is fighting a fire this is it.

I've also added this photo to my Etsy Store if you happen to like it as much as I do!
