Photo of the Day Twenty Six

This is a straight out of the camera photo.
ISO - 1250.    1/160     f/11    30mm

In a brief moment of spontineity my husband and I were cruising around town in our mustang when a beautiful sunset formed.  We headed to the "state beach" that is part of the state park on the far end of the lake.  Most everyone had already cleared out for the evening and we were there with just a couple of other people basking in a beautiful sunset.  Because it was the 4th of July there were fireworks going off at several different lakeside camps.  Booming and thudding echoed from one end of the lake to the other.  It was perfect sitting in the sand together watching the sunset fade from orange to red to purple and into darkness.

I have a couple HDR images of this same scene, but am undecided if I like them enough to share any of them...

  1. Love the red sky and the fireworks in the distance. Is that also a sailboat on the lake? What a beautiful evening.

  2. Thanks!

And no that's not a sailboat. Its actually a cone marking the end of the "safe swimming area" for the beach where I was. If the photo seems prettier thinking its a sailboat then go ahead and forget I said anything :)
