I absolutely adore this photo, however I must admit I think I adore it mostly because the scene that I took in this morning looked a million times better than what I captured with my camera. Yes, my camera settings given the condition and lighting were not ideal. However, I will take what I can get and like it.
Actually, this photo of the single horse is a cropped portion from another photo entirely....
Alas, the settings were a bit off and the scene turned out underexposed and a bit noisy. Perhaps much of it has to do with the fact that I took this photo whilst sitting in my drivers seat parked in the middle of a windy road with no shoulders. Had there been a place to part and had I not been cutting it close to being late for work I would have found a way to sit here and make the photo perfect. Although, one can still create plenty of perfection through a digital darkroom...
With several texture layers and some other small adjustments I created an antique feel of this lonely golden horse in silhouette. It reminds me of an old western. And part of me is content even if the photo is not what I imagined in my mind. Sometimes that's all we can hope for with photography.
I really love how you can turn a photo you had such high hopes for and it didn't quite measure up, into something beautiful in a different way. Thanks for the tips, as usual! love it!
