Before and After - Four

I liked this photo the second I saw it.  It was taken by my friend Misty over at Misty's Musings.  She was gracious enough to send me a copy of this photo so I could play around with it a bit in photoshop.  Here is the original photo from her blog.  Be sure to check out her other wild life/nature photos, too!

I'm a fan of thick frost, its so photogenic.  Add in a well placed bird and you've got a well composed photo that is a perfect candidate for some editing fun. Here is my edit of the original:

Not much was changed.  Mostly I lightened the photo up and adjusted some of the yellows in the frost to make them more white.  I also sharpened the image a little.  Then came the fun part, adding textures.  I did two different edits with different textures.  This photo was harder to play around with textures because of the busy and light background, but the results were still nice.

A slight 'burned edge' and 'grunge' texture added

A couple different textures to this one and a little text added.
This one, even without the text, is my favorite.

Every once and a while I love to edit photos I come across and add textures.  If you have a photo that you think could be tweaked or would like to see edited you can always email it to me if you'd like me to play around with it!  I'll eventually post it on here in a 'Before and After' post once I finish it!

  3. You rock!!! I guess I hadn't realized how dark the photo I posted was. Now I see what I could do with my photos, if I knew what I was doing. LOL

  4. Wow, nicely done. Each step of the way looks good, but the last one is really terrific.
