This is probably one of my most favorite photos that I have taken lately.  Its practically perfect and pretty much straight out of the camera without any adjustments besides a little bit of increased contrast and lightening of the sign.  The fact that I literally just turned on my camera, selected the auto setting, and started snapping the shutter is awesome.  So have faith... you don't have to understand the settings or know what you are doing to take great photos.  There is hope for us all.
